Our Mission / Vision Statements (mentioned in a previous post) are “filled in” by a comprehensive statement about out Core Values and how we are going to live out those statements.
Below is our agreed upone "constellation of values" that we are working toward with every decision, action and intent that we engage in.
We have identified the following values to be the positive attitudes that we all affirm and try to live be in our fellowship.
First and foremost, we are: ** Christ-Centered **
We seek the sacrificial, loving and graceful presence of Jesus Christ in everything we do, especially in our leadership style and our relationships.
The following form a “constellation” of behaviors that surround our “Christ centeredness.”
-Joyfully Sharing Jesus Christ: Sharing God’s story of Jesus Christ with enthusiasm, passion, love and hope.
-Providing Engaging Worship: Innovative, vital worship that transforms people through biblical preaching and truth.
-Equipping Disciples: Encouraging all ages to a deeper faith and confidence in Jesus Christ through Prayer, Spiritual Gifts and Spiritual Disciplines.
-Accountable Small Groups: Connecting members and participants through accountable small groups.
-Radical Hospitality: Offering an “above & beyond” welcome and acceptance; with compassion, hospitality, respect and tolerance for all.
-Involved Mission & Service: Reaching out and helping others through Mission and Service.
All of these values, in one way or another, are to be found in everything that we do as a church fellowship.
Whether it’s a Softball team, a bible study, feeding the hungry or engaging in worship, we want the Holy Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ to shine through and be evident to all around us.
As we move into Holy Week, what ways can you live out these Core Values? Are you able to find the new opportunities that God is putting in your life?
How have you lived closer to God this day?
How goes it with your soul?
Grace and Peace, Pastor Terry
