As Christians, we are all angry and deeply dismayed at not only the death of the 21 Christian brothers and sisters, but of the thousands killed by brutal means under the hands of the individuals who are part of ISIS.
Yet our graceful response must rise to a higher level and show the world that following Christ is a different and more radical way of dealing with differences than simply bringing more violence and death.
How might we as a people, as a nation, as a world respond it a way that leads to better solutions than becoming just as violent as the people of ISIS?
How might we protect the innocent and prevent the violent from inflicting more destruction on others?
We need to take action, but we need to be true to Christ as well.
Here is a great article from Sojourners Magazine to help us reflect on the call to follow Jesus when confronted by evil, violence and death.
