Our church fellowship is full of the signs of new life, of resurrection happening all around us.
A new women’s group: “Stitchers in the Spirit” has been organized. New ministries are being planned to phone shut-ins, care for our Seniors and to “Share & Care” for the caregivers and others in hospice.
Leaders are learning new skills and insights into how our Mission / Vision / Core Values can guide us all.
Our new 11 am Worship Experience has brought our young adult band together to
play wonderful music regularly.
New ideas are coming out of the Ed. Comm. with a “Month of Breakfasts” during April, and from the UMW making “Disaster Kits” to be on hand when floods and earthquakes hit around the nation.
Our Growth & Visibility Team is working on ways to strengthen our “radical hospitality” core value.
Our Worship Design Team offered us a stunning Easter Experience this year with Lilies, a floral Cross and a beautiful table decoration.
Our Trustees and PBOT have been working hard with many projects and will soon complete the Kitchen Remodel.
So the signs of resurrection are all around us. Our spiritual growth is engaging God in many various ways.
And that’s just the beginning!
The power of God’s love is great enough to touch each and every one of us.
It challenges us all to look into our hearts, to grow closer to Christ, and to ask the question over and over again:
“What is God putting on my heart?”
Have you given this question much thought?
Perhaps there is something outside the church that you are doing that we can support and celebrate with you?
Perhaps it’s something you are already doing, or something you have always wanted to do?
Perhaps it’s one of the clear needs in our fellowship such as teaching our children the way of Christ, or helping our adults find the deeper answers to life as they reach out in service to others.
Perhaps it’s a result of discerning your “Spiritual Gifts” (www.oumc.net: “Church Stuff”) through prayer and through the support of your brothers and sisters in Christ. (See Class note below.)
Easter is not just a one time thing. It leads to a lifestyle of following Jesus. And it starts right now.
Take a moment to pray, meditate; breathe in the presence of God. Then look around you with the “eyes of Christ” to see what you can do in Christ’s love.
How goes it with your soul? (…And what scripture has stayed with you lately?)
What would others say they learned about Christ from you this week?
Grace and Peace,
P.S. On Wednesdays () and Thursdays () I’ll be leading a class on “Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts.”
Also beginning is a “Parenting with Grace” Class, a Prayer class and perhaps some others as well.
Join us for a prayerful discovery of what God has blessed you with.
